New Franklin Township School Photos Index

GSMC just scanned and added to the FREE DATABASES section of our website an extensive alphabetical index to school group photos: 4,653 Names

The original photos were collected and organized by Velma Ruede.
The alpha index was created by Marlena Linne. This is a snip of the format.

 The collected photos are in two large ring binders in the collection of the Franklin Township Historical Society. If researchers find their family members in the Index, they can visit the FTHS and see the original photos.

IPS School #21 Museum Relocating

 Woodside Methodist Church Closing;

IPS School #21 Museum Moving

 It is with great sadness we must announce that district will be closing Woodside United Methodist Church in June of this year.

This necessitated finding a new home for our memorabilia museum collection.   Joe Whitsett has stepped forward and is graciously providing room in the school building to display it for us, and as always, welcomes us to hold our reunions there.

Arrangements for the move and actual display are in the works and we will let you know when that is to occur.

We are in hopes that some of the alumni will volunteer to helps us pack, move and set up the museum in its new location when that time comes and along with the use of trucks, if any of you have one and are willing to help.

We will hold an open house at the church so friends and members of the church along with alumni can visit one more time before the move.  The open house will be on a Sunday with time and date to be announced.

This will change our reunion plans but will not interfere with our reunion which will be held on 30th, the last Saturday in July. We will announce time and locations when new plans have been finalized.

We wish the congregation well....and thank them profusely for their friendship, generosity and for hosting our reunions over these many years.

It has been 16 years since we established the museum at Woodside, and while there have been many class reunions over the years, it was 23 years ago when we held our first "All Class Reunion".

Isn't it interesting...we are returning home, so to speak. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
