Whereas, there have been two major construction projects announced this year for the location of the former Greenlawn Cemetery.
And whereas, we expect that additional burials will come to light as part of those projects.
Therefore, GSMC announces the Greenlawn Cemetery Task Force project.
This will be a major effort to collect and put FREE online as much data as we can find and organize about this huge 19th century burial site in the heart of Indianapolis.
GSMC did a small partial burial list about 20 years ago using available sources. This project will be a major upgrade with many additional burials, corrections, and resource materials.
If you can volunteer some time and expertise,
come to our first session at the GSMC Library at Memorial Park
on Wednesday, July 5th, 11am to 2pm.
